Second Day...successful!
So, today I went shopping for healthy foods. I stuck to my grocery list, buying lots of veggies and other healthy foods! Today, for breakfast, I had a thin bagel with cream cheese. For lunch, I had a Luine Cuisine meal, and for dinner, we had shrimp, brocolli, and cottage cheese. Before bed, I had a weight watchers ice cream bar (toffee!), which was only 100 calories. I admit that I had a glass of moscato wine also. But, I think that still kept me under 1500 calories for the day. Tomorrow, I am heading back to the gym as soon as I drop Laney at school. Surprisingly, I am not as sore as I thought I would be today. We'll see how tomorrow goes! Whoo-hoo!

OUCH!!!
Well, I had plans to "take it slow" today at the gym...but it did not happen that way! When I got there, I did the eliptical. As I was exercising, I noticed how badly my knees were hurting, so I started thinking that I really need to do the strengthening exercises that I learned years ago to strengthen my quads and other various muscles to help stabilize my knees and my back. In addition, I thought I should strengthen my neck and shoulder muscles to help (maybe?) with the migraines. SO, I ended up doing a full workout routine...cardio then all the machines to strengthen all the other muscles. I did three reps, low weight for pretty much everything! I am already sore...and it isn't the "next day" yet. I hope I can move tomorrow!!!! But whoo-hoo for me!!! I also bought new tennis shoes after work since the only ones I had were the ones I have been coaching softball in for the last few years! They were falling apart and full of dust! Now I have sparkly new ones for tomorrow when I go to the gym again!!!
How It Started!
It is time for me to get up and moving! Today, I am making a committment to chance my lifestyle. I am thiry-six years old, and I am unhappy with how I feel. Over the last two years, I have gained a lot of weight. I have also been under a great deal of stress, which has negatively affected my body and my mind. My migraines have increased in frequency and in intensity. My back and knees, which have all sustained injuries, are in bad shape right now. I am tired all the time. My schedule is all over the place, so my eating habits are horrible. I have also been experiencing heart palpitations and dizziness, which I think is likely a result of stress. So, now I am beginning Operation Up and Moving! This blog will be my journey...more like my accountability...for what I do each day to improve my life. I will commit to listing my food choices. I will strive to do some kind of exercise at least twice a week (and indicate the information on here). I will welcome any encouragement or ideas for exercise, recipes (that are quick and easy!), and stress relievers. Also, I need feedback regarding migraine relief!
Today:
I ate a thin bagel with cream cheese for breakfast. I just ate cottage cheese and a pickle for lunch. I am leaving RIGHT NOW to go walking at the YMCA...since I need to start slow. I am going to the grocery store after work to get some healthy foods for dinner and lunches this week.
WISH ME LUCK!
